The Sound of Silence, 침묵의 소리,

원래 사이먼과 가펑클 (Simon & Garfunkel)의 첫 앨범에 수록된 곡이었는데

앨범이 망하고 사이먼과 가펑클이 해체되었다고 하네요.

그런데 해체 후에도 이 곡은 인기를 끌어 음반사에서

사이먼과 가펑클 몰래 Folk Rock 스타일로 싱글로 냈는데 대박이 나고

사이먼과 가펑클이 재결합하는 계기가 되었다고 합니다.

오늘날도 여전히 사랑받는 곡이지요.

이태리 토스카니 지역에 있는, 세계적인 성악가 안드레아 보첼리의 고향 라하티코에 있는 '침묵의 극장'입니다.

2011년 무작정 찾아 헤메다가 겨우 겨우 찾아간 곳이지요. 인적을 볼 수 없는 허허벌판에 있는 야외공연장...

어디에서 불어오는지 알 수 없는 바람만 가득했습니다.

 

 

 

 

예로부터 '침묵은 금이고 웅변은 은이다' 라고 했던가요?

성탄절을 지내면서 딸들과 모이니 어찌나 떠들어대는지

그동안 말에 굶주렸는지..ㅎㅎ ㅋㅋ

말들이 방 안에서 춤을 추 듯 가득했는데

집에 돌아오니 하나도 생각나는 말이 없더군요.

 

때로는 말을 해도 알지 못하고,

때로는 말을 안 해도 알게 되는 것을...

인생을 살면서 딸들도 가끔은

침묵의 소리에 귀를 기울이기를 소원해 봅니다.
